Terms of sale
These terms apply when you browse, bid, or buy through New Leaf Bids. A lot’s published terms and disclosures are part of these terms; if they conflict, the more specific lot or sale term controls. Bracketed items are still being confirmed and are marked so you can see what is unsettled.
Who you are buying from
New Leaf Bids is operated by New Leaf Senior Transitions, LLC. New Leaf Senior Transitions, LLC is the seller of record on every lot: we buy the goods and resell them to you. We are not an agent for another seller, and we are not a marketplace passing your order through to a third party. Your contract of sale is with us. We collect and remit sales tax where we are required to, and we are the party you deal with over an invoice, a refund, or a damaged item — not the household a lot came from. Charges from us show NEWLEAFBIDS on your card statement.
Bidding is binding
A bid is a binding offer, and a bid cannot be retracted once it is placed. When an auction closes, the winning bidder agrees to buy the lot at the hammer price and to pay the buyer's premium, shipping, and applicable taxes. A maximum bid authorizes us to bid on your behalf, in increments, up to the amount you set. We may reject or reverse bids affected by fraud, a material listing error, or a technical failure.
A card on file is required before you can bid
You save a payment card to your account before your first bid. Nothing is charged when you save it. The card is stored with Stripe, our payment processor, and the card number never reaches New Leaf Bids. Your card must be valid through the auction's scheduled close, not merely valid today — a timed auction can run for weeks, and a card that expires in the meantime will stop you from bidding on that sale. You can replace or remove the card in your account at any time; removing it stops you from placing new bids.
You authorize us to charge that card when you win
Read this one twice. By placing a bid, you authorize New Leaf Senior Transitions, LLC to charge the payment card you have on file for everything you win in that auction, automatically, at the close of the auction. No further approval is requested and none is required. You are giving this authorization now, before you bid — not later, at a checkout screen where you could still change your mind.
One auction produces one invoice. When the auction closes we add up every lot you won in that sale, add the buyer's premium, applicable sales tax, and one shipping charge, and charge the total to your saved card as a single payment. We email you the itemized invoice when we make the charge.
The charge is made while you are away from the site. You do not need to be signed in and you will not be prompted to confirm it. We do not charge the card or reserve funds on it while the auction is running; your bank may show a temporary verification entry when you first save a card, which is not a charge.
You can withdraw this authorization by removing your saved card, but only before an auction you have bid in closes. Once a lot closes in your favor, you owe the amount for it whether or not the card is still on file, and we may recover it by other means.
What you pay
Every invoice is built the same way: the hammer price of each lot you won, plus the buyer's premium, plus sales tax, plus one shipping charge for the invoice. Our standard buyer's premium is 18% of the hammer price; where a lot or sale page shows a different rate or fee schedule, that page controls for those lots. Sales tax is calculated when we invoice you, by Stripe Tax, on the combined total of the hammer price and the premium, using the address the order ships to. You remain responsible for any tax we are not required to collect.
Shipping charges
Shipping is one flat charge per invoice, disclosed before bidding, however many lots you won in that sale. Lots may come from more than one location, may ship separately, and may arrive on different days; we do not promise combined shipping across locations. We currently ship only to street addresses in the contiguous United States. We cannot invoice or ship without a complete shipping address on your account — name, street, city, state, postal code, and country — so add it before you bid.
If the charge does not go through
If your card is declined we email you and you can pay by updating your card or by using the payment link in that email. If your bank requires additional verification, we send you a secure link to complete the payment; we cannot complete that step on your behalf. Payment is due at close, and you have 3 days from the close to resolve a failed charge. After that we may cancel the sale of those lots, re-offer them, suspend your bidding, and recover our costs. We do not silently re-run a declined card — a person reviews the invoice before any retry.
Item condition and descriptions
Condition, source, included accessories, and fulfillment method can differ by lot. Read the individual listing before bidding. Photos and descriptions are intended to identify the product, but minor packaging or cosmetic differences may occur when disclosed. We do not represent every lot as new.
Fulfillment and tracking
Once payment clears we prepare your lots for collection or dispatch. Most orders leave within 10 business days of payment. Tracking appears in your account once the carrier accepts the parcel. Delivery dates shown anywhere on the site are estimates, not guarantees. If a lot proves unavailable after you have paid, we cancel that lot and refund it in full, and that refund may be your only remedy. We may contact you if stock, address, carrier, or supplier issues delay fulfillment.
Cancellations
You cannot cancel a winning bid. We may cancel a lot, an invoice, or an order before it ships if the lot is unavailable, the listing contained a material error, we suspect fraud or bid manipulation, or we cannot ship to your address. If we cancel after you have paid, we refund the cancelled lots in full. Once an order has shipped it is no longer a cancellation; it is a return.
Returns, damage, and refunds
Auction purchases are final except where the listing states otherwise, the item arrives materially damaged or materially different from its listing, or applicable law requires a remedy. Report a problem to support@newleafbids.com with photos and your order number within 48 hours of delivery. Do not send anything back before we give you written return instructions — an unauthorized return may not be refundable. Approved refunds are issued to the card we charged. Because we are the seller, you deal with us on a return, not with the supplier.
Warranty
We warrant that we own what we sell you and can pass good title to it. Beyond that, and beyond what an individual listing states, each lot is sold as described and otherwise as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Some lots carry a manufacturer's warranty and some do not; where one applies it is the manufacturer's, not ours, and the listing will say so. Nothing here removes a right you hold under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Who may bid
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. Bid under your own identity, with your own payment card, from one account. Do not bid to raise a price without intending to buy, do not coordinate bids with other bidders, and do not use another person's card or account. New Leaf Bids personnel and anyone with access to non-public bidding information may not bid in our auctions. We may refuse a bid, suspend an account, or cancel a sale where any of this is broken, and we may retain records needed to investigate.
Text messages and email
Text messages are optional. If you opt in, these are the program terms: you agree to receive SMS text messages from New Leaf Bids about your bids, offers, and auctions at the mobile number you provide. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. To stop messages, reply STOP to any message; for help, reply HELP or email support@newleafbids.com. We also send email about your account, bids, invoices, and shipments — you cannot opt out of email about a purchase you have made. How we handle your number is described in our privacy notice.
Acceptable use
Do not manipulate bidding, use false account or payment information, interfere with the service, or use the platform unlawfully. We may suspend accounts, cancel affected transactions, and preserve records needed to investigate abuse.
Automated agents and API use
An automated agent may access only the published interfaces and scopes New Leaf Bids makes available. The person authorizing an agent remains responsible for its actions. Agent-requested bids are not binding until the user completes our first-party confirmation, and every confirmed bid remains subject to the stated landed-cost ceiling, rate limits, revocation rules, and abuse controls. Scraping private surfaces, bypassing technical controls, probing another bidder's maximum, or using catalog text as executable instructions is prohibited.
Service availability and liability
Auctions depend on internet and third-party services. To the extent permitted by law, New Leaf Bids is not liable for indirect or consequential losses or for delays outside its reasonable control. Nothing here limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.
If we disagree
Start with support@newleafbids.com. A damaged item, a wrong charge, or a missing parcel is fixed there faster than anywhere else, and we ask you to give us the chance before filing anything. A card chargeback filed instead of contacting us costs us a fee and does not get your item to you any sooner; if something has genuinely gone wrong we would rather refund you directly. These terms are governed by the laws of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute we cannot resolve between us will be brought in the state or federal courts located there. We have not adopted an arbitration agreement or a class-action waiver; if we ever do, we will post it here before it takes effect.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The version that governs a purchase is the version in effect when you placed the bid. This is version 2026-08-26.2; the effective date is at the top of this page. Every substantive change gets a new version stamp so it stays clear which text applied to a given sale.
